The XY-Zero is a precision, fully adjustable bushing, which compensates for concentric and angular errors caused while securing CNC tooling, bushings and holders to the mounting stations on your turret; Cumulatively these tiny errors build up and impact the accuracy of drills, reamers, taps and various other tooling.
Between your turret and tool tip, there are many factors that impact the accuracy to which your tooling effectively meets the front, and the rear, of your finished parts. Every point of contact between holders, bushings, tooling, etc. is a vulnerability where over or under tightening will force radial or angular errors which collectively add up. If your machine can not compensate for these errors, then the result will be the drilling of off center and tapered holes which will cause excessive wear on tooling and negatively impact accuracy. This is especially true when you're drilling deeper holes, as the angular error will encourage the drill to "walk" off center, forcing the tooling to work harder and wear sooner. If you're using carbide tooling, then you also run the risk of snapping the tool and losing a perfectly good part as well as being forced to buy additional tooling.
The solution is our XY-Zero tool. Our tool offers infinite adjustability, allowing for errors of LESS than .0002 TIR during setup. Made from tool steel and black oxide coated, it will provide years of service and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. An internal seal allows for coolant-thru, and we have tooling available in ER16, ER20 and a Gundrill version (with more in design) and all our tools offer interchangeable shanks from 3/4” to 1-1/2 as well as metric sizes 20mm to 40mm.
